The lonely Little Princess

Long ago on the top of a mountain that was above the town
In a mansion is where a princess lived who had a crown

Her parents the Queen and King over the town they ruled over it
They kept the people happy with many of things but mostly food so they would be fit

Now the princess was six and had never left the mountain at any time at all
She played with the cook and maids her parents were often gone to some fancy Ball

Many times she would sneak to the edge of the mountain just to look down
At all the House's but mostly she watched the kids play in the small town
Always hoping when she got older that maybe some day
That her parents would let her go to town so with the kids she could play

She had everything that money could buy
But her parents were gone so much it made her cry
She had lots of animals all around but her favorite was her little pony
Some days she rode far from home but still the little girl felt so lonely
One sunny morning she got on her pony and down the hill they did ride
This day she was brave she went through the gates and went outside

She was having so much fun she did not see a very big stone
Her pony tripped and all of a sudden she was thrown to the ground
The pony ran back up the hill she could not move her leg it hurt so bad
She was crying and wishing now that opening the gate she never had
In the distance all she could hear were the sounds of many a sheep
After awhile from the pain and crying she soon fell fast asleep

When she awoke she was not in the bed where she was always sleeping
She was afraid until she saw the children in the door as they were peeking
Seeing the children made her not afraid her leg hurt no more someone had wrapped it up
They children ran in asking so many questions when up on the bed jumped a little pup

Very quite she was to them because with kids she had never got to play
She now must think of something to say

A thought came to say she could not remember anything so with this family she could stay for a while
She had been lonely for such a long time just listening to the kids gave  her face a  big smile
The parents ask her from where she came and if she felt better she nodded and said yes
She also thanked them for helping them get out of her horrible mess
Then a dreaded question the parents asked could she remember her last name
To lie she knew was wrong but she wanted to stay she said she did not know from where she had came
Her parents had told her they would be gone longer this time the friends they were visiting lived far away
So they would not miss her and the truth she would tell soon all she wanted was with the children to play
She really loved this family and the kids so she decided to stay a very long time

The children to her to school and she learned new games and even a new nursery rhyme
The time flew by fast she was having such fun now summer was almost over somehow
She had started to miss her very own home she must tell the truth to them now
They all ate together at a large table in a tiny little room
She told them the truth and ask them to please take her home soon

The got up early the next day and got in the wagon and off they did go
Father drove fast because it was so cold and he was afraid that it may snow.
He knew they could not stop or could not be late
Because when it was dark the the guards would lock up the gate

Now that the parents knew she belonged to the King and the Queen
They were hoping to themselves that to their family they would not be mean
The parents would tell them in the woods father did find her and would explain
The little Princess had told them she knew not where her home was or could not remember her name
Father drove so very fast to the top of the mountain they made it they were not to late
They were amazed as they were passing through at how huge was this golden gate

At the beautiful mansion they stopped and got out
Little princess's parents saw her they let out a shout
We have looked in the town and all around
But know one knew you and to us you were not found
We thought that we had lost our princess forever
And we promise to leave you alone no not never
The King thanked the family for keeping her safe
You could see they were happy by the smiles on their face
The Father said thanks but its getting late and we must go
But as they walked outside to their surprise it had began to snow

The Queen said with us all of you will surely stay
Until this awful snow does go away
In the mansion the family stayed for a week by then there was no more snow
The little Princess started to cry and ask her parents if they had to go
The King and the Queen told the father they never had to go away
Because down the path a cottage they could have and forever could stay

The king told the father on this farm I have jobs you can do
And never will your family have hard times to go through
So in the end it all worked out and the family did stay
And never was the Princess lonely not one single day.
